Ride data: Load, Fitness and personal bests

What happens when a ride arrives

WattPlan reads the file and works out Weighted Power, Intensity, Load and time in each zone. If there is no power, it estimates Load from heart rate. It then updates Fitness, Fatigue and Form, checks nine power durations from 5 seconds to an hour for a personal best, and compares the day's Load with what the plan asked for.

Load

Load measures the training stress of a ride. An hour at your FTP is 100. The dashboard shows today's Load against the plan; go well over target and the Coach will suggest a lighter day or a rebalance.

FTP

WattPlan estimates FTP from your best efforts and asks you to confirm before it changes anything. It never rewrites your zones silently. Set FTP yourself in Settings whenever you have a better number.

Editing a ride

Open the ride and tap Edit to correct Load or duration, for example after a power meter dropped out. Edited rides are marked so you can see what changed.

Long rides

Very long rides are thinned before storage so the file fits; charts still draw the whole ride. GPS is kept unless the ride is exceptionally long.

Deleting a ride

Delete from the ride's page. Fitness and Fatigue recalculate on the next import; the ride is not removed from the platform it came from.
