Terms of Service
Last Updated: 2 August 2026
Health notice: WattPlan provides training information, not medical advice. Consult a doctor before starting a training programme, and see section 8 before you begin.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using WattPlan ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Service.
WattPlan is operated by Manual Focus, a business based in the United Kingdom. How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Users of the mobile app also accept the End User Licence Agreement presented in the app, which covers the same ground for the installed application.
2. Description of Service
WattPlan is a cycling training platform that provides AI-assisted coaching, personalised training plans, workout execution tools, performance analytics, and integrations with third-party fitness platforms and devices.
The Service is available as a web application and a mobile application. Some features require a paid subscription.
3. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Keep your account credentials secure and confidential
- Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account
- Accept responsibility for activity that occurs under your account
You must be at least 18 years old, and able to enter into a binding contract, to create an account.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
WattPlan offers a free tier and a paid tier called WattPlan Premium.
- Price: WattPlan Premium costs US$9.99 per month. The amount charged in your local currency, including any tax, is shown before you confirm the purchase.
- Billing: subscriptions are sold and billed through Google Play, which acts as the merchant for the transaction. Your purchase is also subject to Google Play's own terms.
- Automatic renewal: the subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of a billing period to stop the next renewal.
- Cancelling: cancel at any time in your Google Play account settings, under Subscriptions. You keep Premium features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Deleting your WattPlan account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel in Google Play as well, or it will continue to renew.
- Refunds: refunds are handled by Google under the Google Play refund policy. Contact us if a charge looks wrong and we will help you take it up with Google.
- Price changes: we may change subscription pricing with advance notice. A new price applies only after your current period ends, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days. That right sits alongside Google Play's refund process. Nothing in these Terms removes your legal rights as a consumer.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its systems or another user's account
- Interfere with or place unreasonable load on the Service or its infrastructure
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the Service, except where the law expressly permits it
- Use automated tools to access the Service, or extract our workout library or training content in bulk
- Circumvent subscription or feature limits
- Share your account credentials with others
6. Your Data
You retain ownership of the training data you provide. You grant WattPlan the licence we need to store and process that data in order to run the Service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data.
You can delete your account and its data from within the app, from our account deletion page, or by emailing us at james@manual-focus.co.uk. Remember to cancel any Google Play subscription separately.
7. AI Coaching
WattPlan's AI features generate training recommendations, insights and plan suggestions using an automated language model provided by Google. These responses are not reviewed by a human before you see them.
- AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or unsuitable for your circumstances
- It is general training information, not medical, nutritional or professional coaching advice
- You are responsible for judging whether any recommended workout suits your fitness, health and circumstances on the day
- If AI advice conflicts with guidance from your doctor or physiotherapist, follow your doctor or physiotherapist
Please do not enter sensitive personal information into the AI chat. Our Privacy Policy explains what is sent to the AI provider.
8. Health, Safety and Training Risk
Cycling and structured training carry a risk of injury. WattPlan is not a medical provider, and the Service is not a substitute for a doctor, physiotherapist or qualified coach.
Consult a qualified medical professional before starting a training plan or significantly increasing your training load — particularly if you have or suspect a heart condition, high blood pressure, a respiratory condition, diabetes, a musculoskeletal injury or an eating disorder, or if you are pregnant or recently postnatal. Stop exercising and seek medical help if you feel chest pain, dizziness, faintness or any other worrying symptom.
You train at your own risk. You are responsible for your own technique, equipment and road safety, and for stopping when your body tells you to. Metrics such as FTP, Load, Fitness, Fatigue, Form and W' are estimates derived from the data available to us and can be inaccurate, particularly if a sensor misreads or an activity imports incompletely.
We do not promise any particular result. Training outcomes depend on genetics, health, sleep, nutrition, consistency and many other factors outside our control, and no plan can guarantee a performance improvement, a target time or an event finish.
9. Third-Party Integrations
The Service integrates with third-party platforms including Strava, Garmin and Wahoo, and relies on service providers including Google Firebase, Google Gemini, OpenWeatherMap, RevenueCat and Google Play. Your use of a connected platform is subject to that platform's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy or conduct of third-party services, and a change on their side may interrupt syncing. You can disconnect any integration at any time in Settings.
Bluetooth sensor support depends on your hardware and device, and we cannot guarantee that every trainer, power meter or heart rate strap will work.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service — including its design, code, content, workout library, training algorithms, and the WattPlan name and logo — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from the Service without our written permission. The underlying AI language model is provided by Google and remains the property of its owner.
11. Availability and Changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update, change or withdraw features, and may suspend access for maintenance. If we make a significant change that reduces what a paid subscription provides, we will tell you and you may cancel.
12. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including loss of data, loss of profit or loss of opportunity. Our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or GBP 100.
These limits reflect that WattPlan is a low-cost consumer training tool rather than a professional or medical service.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time, as described in section 6. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the Service. Except where you have seriously breached these Terms, we will give you reasonable notice and, if we discontinue a paid service, a pro-rata refund of any period you have paid for and not received. On termination your right to use the Service ends.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes or the law requires. We will revise the "Last Updated" date above, and if a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or in the EEA, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, and may bring proceedings there.
16. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not lose it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to a company that takes over our business, provided your rights are not reduced.
